Cellphone Hater

Does anybody remember
when a man’s business was his own?
Does anybody remember
When a man’s business was purely his own?
That’s all gone now, gave it up to that little telephone

They say they’re supposed to serve us
But I feel like a slave instead
They say they’re supposed to serve us
I say I’m the slave instead
If I don’t answer by the third ring
My wife starts thinking I’m dead

On call all the time,
boss man knows just where I am
On call all the time
Boss man knows just where I am
And I better keep it charged up
Or I’ll be one more sorry jobless man

I swear I get to thinkin’
Of walking out that Golden Gate
People I get so tired sometimes
I think I’ll walk out on that Golden Gate
But don’t worry, I ain’t jumpin’
Just that little phone’s going in the Bay
